Keppel Ltd. (Keppel), through its philanthropic arm, Keppel Care Foundation, has pledged $300,000 to renew its support for the Nature and Sustainability Tours conducted at Gardens by the Bay (the Gardens) – Singapore’s premier horticultural attraction for local and international visitors.
The renewed partnership was announced at the Gardens’ Race to Sustainability!, graced by Guest-of-Honour Mr Zaqy Mohamad, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment.
Launched in 2022, the Nature and Sustainability Tours are led by professional guides and offered free-of-charge to all Singaporeans and local residents, including admission to the Flower Dome or Cloud Forest for selected tours. The tours raise awareness on the importance and interconnectedness of the natural environment, biodiversity and climate change, as well as the urgency of climate action. Keppel’s support has enabled the public to benefit from the tours free of charge. Since their launch in December 2022 and up to end-September 2025, nearly 25,000 people have attended more than 1,700 tours on topics including Biodiversity and Ecosystems, Carbon and Climate, and Energy and Water.
With Keppel’s renewed support, the Nature and Sustainability Tours will offer eleven routes themed around Nature and Sustainability, with a stronger focus on Biodiversity. The renewed tours are expected to reach close to 28,000 visitors over three years. New tours will be offered, such as wildlife and birdwatching tours, which will allow participants to gain a deeper understanding of the biodiversity present in the Gardens. More inclusive tours will also be offered to social service agencies. The tours will be tailored for specific needs, such as persons with visual impairment and mobility challenges.
Mr Loh Chin Hua, CEO of Keppel, said, “We are pleased to renew our partnership with Gardens by the Bay in support of the well-received Nature and Sustainability Tours. The tours have helped to raise awareness about the environment, climate change and biodiversity. We hope that the new iteration of the tours will continue to encourage the public to protect our environment, and also foster greater appreciation of nature and biodiversity.”
Mr Felix Loh, CEO of Gardens by the Bay, said, “Keppel has a long-standing tradition on sustainability and we are grateful for their renewed commitment to Gardens by the Bay's foremost environmental outreach programme. The latest tranche of sponsorship will allow us to introduce new public tours to cope with the growing demand, as well as specially curated inclusive offerings for visitors with special needs.”
